April 2007 > Version 3.0 > Transition

  • 07 Apr 2007 – Trialia and xJAYMANx held the following LiveJournal discussion.
    • trialia: Question. Any chance you’ll ever finish archiving the Construct fics to that site you set up? If not, would you mind sending the stuff to me so I can do it? Thanks.
    • xjaymanx: hey, by any chance, r u one of the original three goddesses? ;) actually, i only lost interest b/c everyone else seemed to… but i can certainly resume work if interest has returned :)… any suggestions on keeping or changing the current path?
    • trialia: *chuckles* Me? Na. But I am talking to Ryven right at this minute, as it happens, and am still in touch with MTS… ;) Ah, I see! I think the path you were on would be good to continue. It’d be brilliant to actually have somewhere to find all the best fic again without having to brave The Pit.
    • xjaymanx: lol, forgive me, what’s “the pit”? an LJ fanfic community? wow, last time i discussed permission to resurrect “constructfic” in the event it ever went offline, was back in november 2004, with Trinity (Katie) and Zephyr (Brittany)! Danascully never replied, lol. (xJAYMANx’s Note, May 2008: Actually, Danascully did reply. I just got confused with her other name Trinity. See Archives > Version 2 > 2004.) after i dig out my old matrix files, this’ll make another interesting project on my to-do list!
    • trialia: fanfiction.net, remember? =P Long time. Still, not all of us Hardliners have disappeared into the ether. (Xauhquia/Trialia here, btw, depending on which name you remember me by if at all. =P) Nifty! ^_^
    • xjaymanx: ah, the dreaded ff.net!… hmmm, “trialia” does ring a bell ;)… true, we’re not all unplugged yet! but i’m curious, how the heck did u find my LJ?
    • trialia: Hardline Tavern. Someone posted your site in a comment over there, I wandered over to it and found you weren’t done yet, and decided to find out if you had any plans to finish because I have so little fic left on my hard drive. Speaking of which, I still have beat’s To Glory You and DS’s End of the Sky, if you don’t.
    • xjaymanx: ah, intriguing!… i’ll check later, but if i don’t, sure, i can add them… which brings up a good point: how many new fics have u seen since constructfic.org went down? do we add all of them? good ones? who decides? i don’t remember if the goddesses had any selection process or not…
    • trialia: Not many, but I’ve written some myself… I wouldn’t add all the new fic you find. If you want a decision committee or something like how they went through it before, I’m sure Ryven wouldn’t mind helping, and I wouldn’t either. =) Best to get the old content back up first though, really, I guess. ^^;
    • xjaymanx: yeah, lol, okay-okay… but first i’ll upgrade the design to work in Firefox too, maybe shift the HTML into PHP, etc, then transfer the content… u caught me during the redesign of my toybox blog+website, so this’ll take some time… i’ll keep u posted :)
    • trialia: Hon, I’m using Firefox, and it works brilliantly for me. ^_~ As for shifting the HTML, I’d say all you prolly need to do would be to start using server-side includes on it, it’ll save a heck of a lot of space. The rest works just fine… Thank you. ^^ My email is trialia @gmail.com :)
